The first thing you should do when you choose your wedding date is see what time the sun sets on your wedding day!
This is something I definitely didn't do as a bride myself! Fortunately, I picked one of the best times of the year for sunset portraits - summer! From a photographic perspective, I think summer weddings have a clear timeline advantage for the couple who really wants to make sure they have plenty of portrait time. During this time of the year, you'll often see the sun setting in the Murrieta area as late as 8:00. What this means for the couples I work with is I can often get an extra 20 minutes with them during dinner and get some additional portraits at their venue. For this wedding at Forever and Always Farm, we took these pictures at about 7:30. These end up being some of my couples' favorite images, not just because of the gorgeous light, but the pressure of the day is really off! They've had some food to eat, perhaps a glass of something alcoholic, and are feeling much more relaxed.
I highly recommend prioritizing your wedding day portraits around whenever the sunset is on your own wedding day. And if you're still searching for your wedding photographer, I'd love to connect! See the links below and let's get in touch!
