The images of the bride and groom on their wedding day are my absolute favorite to capture. I love the emotion throughout the wedding day - from interacting to family and friends and the celebration of the reception. Portraits are my favorite, though, simply because it's one of the very brief times during the day the bride and groom have alone together (well...except their trusted photographer!). On a wedding day, either this time comes before the ceremony with a first look, or after the ceremony once all the family photos and bridal party pictures are wrapped up. Sometimes due to the flow of the day it's only fifteen minutes - although of course the more time you can plan for this in your day, the better! Katelyn + Jordan's image here was captured during some of the best light of the day, right before they entered the reception. I love the backlight on the two of them, as well as they way they're looking at each other. I know portraits is one of those segments of the day that can make a couple nervous, having all the attention focused on them! In this image they were looking at each other adoringly without any prompting, but I asked Katelyn to touch Jordan's face, and it provided that extra touch of sweetness and closeness - just what a couple wants to see in their wedding day portraits!
